LINWOOD BOWLING CLUB HOLDS NEW YEAR TOURNAMENT.
W. EFFORD’S RINK WINS; WILL COMPETE IN DOMINION TOURNEY The Linwood Bowling Clubs annual New Year rinks tournament was continued yesterday under favourable conditions and with the green in excellent order. Three games of twenty-one heads each were played on Saturday, and another three yesterday. Six wins were secured by an Edgeware rink consisting of Burns, Morgan, "West and W r . Efford (skip), and a United rink consisting of Jones, Ward, Watson and Dr Marks (skip). The first prize was secured by Efford's rink, who scored
(Skip of winning rink.) an aggregate of 73 points in ihp first, three games, against 60 by Dr Marks's rink, who received the second prize. Efford's rink has entered for the Dominion tournament, and will leave for Auckland on Friday. At the conclusion of the games, the prizes were presented by air John Clarke, who was in charge of the tournament. The following arc the results of yesterday's games:— FOURTH ROUND.
