SECOND WOOL SALE OF SEASON WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY.
r» The second wool sale to be held in Christchurch this season will commence on Thursday evening and will be continued on Friday. Jt was reported a fortnight ago that there were nearly 32,000 bales in store in the city, and the allocation for the sale is 26.000 bales. Last year 20,034 bales were offered at the January sale, and 24,901) bales in 1925. This year the first sale after the Christmas vacation is being awaited with great interest. The improvement in industrial conditions at Home and the report that those engaged in the wool trade view the future " with quiet confidence," have created the hope that the sale will show a marked strengthening of values. Those in close touch with the market are optimistic, and, as the clip is said to have opened up in splendid condition, it is anticipated that a good clearance will be effected at a satisfactory level.
