FILM PERSONALS.
Ben Turpin has forsaken pictures—for a time at any rate—and is now appearing in vaudeville. Laura La Plante, Universal star, was married to William A. Seiten, motion picture director, at Los Angeles, on November 14. Two days later, according to a New York message, Dorothy Mackaill was married in that city to Lothar Mendes, also a director. Contrary to what many film fans may believe, Richard Talmadge is far more than merely a good acrobat (says “Motion Picture Magazine”). He is an excellent comedian and under a contract which will give him better stories and direction, he should rapidly climb in popularity. The body of Tom Forman, motion picture director, with a bullet hole through the heart, was found this morning bv his parents in their home m Venice (says a Los Angeles message dated November 7). The conclusion of police was suicide, the act being due to a nervous breakdown following intense work upon a picture. Forman was 34 years of age. He was formerly an actor, and began directing pictures about six years ago.
