LATE SOCIAL NEWS.

WEDDING. SCOTT—HANNA Y. A wedding of considerable interest to a wide circle of friends was celebrated At St Barnabas Church, Fen dal ton. this afternoon, when Miss Louise Hannay was married to Mr Leonard Brown Scott, both of Christchurch. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs Hannay and the late Mr W. Hannay, and the bridegroom is the youngest son of Mrs Scott and the lite.Mr W. B. Scott. Delphiniums and shaded pink larkspurs and roses decorated the interior of the church, the bright colourings making an effective background for the bridal party. The ceremony was performed by the Rev H. S. Leach, and Mr Alfred Merton presided at the organ.

The bride, who was escorted to the church by her brother, Mr J. Hannay, by whom she was subsequently given away, looked very charming in her bridal gown, a French model of shell pink georgette. The long bloused bodice inset at the waist with a short pointed panel of deeper pink, fell from a narrow rounded yoke of the deeper shade, and from one shoulder hung a cluster of quaintly shaped hand-made flowers in shades of pink with long stems of deep jade. The full skirt had a wide hem border mounted on net, and tV-as formed of small round medallions toning from cerise to pale pink, each medallion being surrounded by small silver beads. At one side of the waist line a wide looped bow of cerise and gold shot taffetas gave an uncommon and most attractive finish. Her hat of shell pink silk crinoline straw had a narrow front brim, cut away at the back and the front crown and brim were trimmed with appliqued velvet, leaves and flowers in pink tones. In place of the customary bouquet she carried a sheaf of American beauty roses.

Miss Mabel Hannay attended her sister as bridesmaid, wearing an unusual frock of royal blue floral ninon, patterned with large pink shaded roses and bronze leaves. The long bodice fell straight in front and had a narrow ruched panel up the centre front, and was bloused at the back, falling over wide panels ruched at the sides forming long pointed flares, and the long bishop sleeves were of the plain blue material. Her blue silk crinoline straw hat was swathed with a tulle toning with her frock, and a neck scarf was of the same material. She carried a sheaf of pink and bronze flowers.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr Charles Seymour as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mrs E. M. Caffin, the sister of the bride, where relatives and a few close friends were entertained. Mrs Hannay, who was assisted by her daughter, Mrs Caffin, received the guests wearing a handsome frock of black souple satin made with a loose front pleated panel, and the sleeves falling in a long point over the hand. Her black silk ottoman coat was made in long lines, and her Smart hat of black corded silk, with a tam crown, was trimmed with a plastron of pastel shaded flat ribbon flowers, and she carried a bouquet of purple shaded flowers. Mrs Caffin wore a frock of black satin georgeuse made from a pointed yoke and falling open in' front over a finely pleated panel of apple green georgette, a wide swathed band, straight across the back tied in a wide 1* ->w at the front wai6t line. Her hat oi black novelty straw had a plain ribbon band round the crown, and she carried a bouquet of roses.

When the bride left for her wedding tour she wore a smart French frock of rtavy blue crepe de chine madfe with a full front skirt panel and beaded in a conventional design, in chalk beads. Her Dolman coat of blue satin had a wide collar of skunk fur, and her hat was of jade green and silver braid woven into a quaint design on a foundation of jade green.
