Asserting that Britain two month* ago addressed representations to important Foreign Offices regarding China, which were well received and quickly dropped. “ Le Quotidien ” says: British overtures to Japan followed for co-operation in a policy of intervention. The Japanese Press had already replied stating that any concerted action it only possible if the Britisji Government abandons its plan to fortify Singapore.”
