BEACH RACES BEGUN TO-DAY
SPEED ON SAND BY MOTOR-CYCLE RIDERS. The first beach motor cycling of the season were held at North Beach this afternoon under the auspices of the Pioneer Sports Club. There was an attendance of about 2000 people. The following arc the results:— FOUR MILES MAIDEN. G. Freddy, 2* h.p. A.J.S. (20sec), 4 min 46 2-ssec 1 R. J. Hore, 2& h.p. Douglas (lOsec), 4min 40 4-sseo 2 There were four starters and Hore secured fastest time. EIGHT MILES OPEN. J. Mewhinney, 5-6 Super X (20see), 6min 50 4-ssec, and fastest time 1 R. J. Hore, 2£ h.p. Douglas (50sec), 7min 25sec 2 G. Hockley, 2J Harley-Davidson (80 sec), Smin 23sec 3 Seven started. SIXTEEN MILES OPEN. J. C. Mewhinney, 5-6 Super X (scr), 14niin 6 4-sseo .... 1 Four started.
