Christchurch 15/- and 10/Walk through the Otira Gorge COUNTLESS NATURAL ATTRACTIONS The walk over Arthur’s Pass and through the Otira Gorge offers the opportunity of viewing a combination of forest, river and mountain scenery which has been acclaimed by world wide travellers to be one of the SCENIC WONDERS OF THE WORLD. An officer of the Railway Department will accompany those who take this walk. Luncheon may be obtained at the new HOSTEL AT ARTHUR’S PASS and trampers may join the return train at the Public Works Siding, Otira. Luncheon may also be obtained at OTIRA RAILWAY REFRESHMENT ROOMS. Hornby 9.25, Templeton 9.35, Rolleston 9.55, Dunsandel 10.15, Rakaia 10.35, and arrive Methven 11.33 a.m. On return it will leave Methven at 5.45 p.ra., stop where required to set down passengers, and arrive Christchurch 8.0 p.m. It will connect at Rakaia with evening train for Ashburton. SPECIAL TRAIX taking Passengers and Horses for Methven will leave Christchurch at 6.30 a.m., and arrive Methven at 10.20 a.m. On return it will leave Methven 6.20 p.m., and arrive Christchurch 9.30 p.m. The usual 4.30 p.m. Christchurcli-Ashburton train will leave Christchurch 4.50 p.m. and arrive Ashburton 7.27 p.m. The usual 6.1 S p.m. Rakaia-Methven train will leave Rakaia 6.46 p.m., and *rrive Methven 8.0 p.m. • Tickets at Holiday Excursion Rates will he issued from Christchurch-Ashburton-Somerton and intermediate stations on direct route.
