MURDER AND SUICIDE SUSPECTED IN N.S.W. FIRE MYSTERY.
Br Telpfrraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. aml .V.Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, November 25. As a result of a fire in a cottage at Tenterfield at an early hour this morning. Constable Milton, his wife and three children, were burned to death. The flames secured a strong hold before it was realised that the unfortunate family were in danger. A post-mortem examination of the victims revealed bullet wounds in the heads of all the deceased. The theory now is that Milton shot his wife and children, then set fire to the house and shot himself. Neighbours state that they heard a sound like a shot about midnight, but a niece of Milton, who was sleeping on the verandah and who gave the alarm of fire, states that, she heard nothing unusual until the fire broke out. Other testimony shows that Milton lived very happily with his wife and family, to whom he was extremely attached .
