PROGRAMME AT OPERA HOUSE IS BRIMFUL OF SNAP.
ANOTHER VOLUME OF STORYETTES FROM THE VERY VERSATILE GEORGE.
The new programme at the Opera House is brimful of snap in both the first and second parts. Stompy and Stella open the vaudeville bill with songs, patter and dancing, of which the dancing is especially meritorious. Paul Debur and a lady partner give some remarkable demonstrations of the art of tearing paper so that different designs are produced. Huley and Bent are entirely successful in entertaining the audience with the idea of a nagging wife and an inebriated husband. The lady does fine work, while her partner supplies any amount of comedy. In the second half, George Storey provides another volume of liis storyettes, and it makes good entertainment. There are a. number of. short and snappy sketches, interspersed with songs. The sketches are invariably well acted, and are a pleasingly varied selection, and the singing also is good. Mr Albert Bidgood and his orchestra capably handle a heavy night's playing.
