Mr Pearson, one of the publishers, apologises to Sir James Rennell Rodd for the appearance of the latter's name in the controversy over “The Whispering Gallery,” and affirms that Sir Pennell Rodd is not the author of the memoirs and did not participate in their preparation, or publication.
