Mr 11. Holland, M.P.. wrote to the Drainage Board last evening, stating that he expected to be financially interested in a company that would tender lor one of the board’s contracts, and he felt that the proper course was to resign, his resignation to be dealt with as the board thought tit. He enclosed a newspaper clipping which seemed to show that that course was unnecessary, but he thought it best to be on the safe side. The chairman (Mr 11. J. Otley) said that he was very sorry that Mr Holland had found it necessary to resign. He found that his Parliamentary work was much heavier than he had expected. Appearing in Court in kilts and striped stockings, Captain Harold Hubert Vincent, -14, described as a reformer, was charged at the Marlborough Street Court, London. with using insulting words and behaviour. Asked to plead guilty or not guilty, Vincent said: "Get on with the farce." He was sternly rebuked by the Magistrate. Inspector White said Vincent was speaking in Hyde Park at a meeting under the auspices of the Sun Ray Club and New Life Society. He condemned the English law with regard to persons walking about in the nude, and as his statements were resented by people he was arrested.
