N.Z. GIRL DIVORCES EARL HARDWICKE.
OBTAINS DECREE NISI ON MISCONDUCT GROUNDS. "By Telegraph.—Pres* Assn,—Copyright Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, November 22. The Countess Hardwicke, formerly Miss Nellie Russell, of New Zealand, obtained a decree nisi on an undefended petition, on the ground of Earl Hardwicke’s misconduct. The marriage took place in London in 1911. The only child, a girl, is now fourteen. The husband began to associate with other women in the war time, for which petitioner forgave him. In consequence of his behaviour, she left him in 1920. The Earl suggested separation, admitting that he alone was responsible for. the- trouble; The petitioner tried to induce her husband to return, hoping he fvpuld reform. The Earl did not return, and was found to have stayed recently with a woman in a London hotel.
