BIG CLAIM MADE BY A FARMER.
Per Tress Association. NAPIER. November 23. In the Supreme Court, William John Corrigan, a farmer, sought to recover £IBO6 6s lOd from Iloadley. Son and Stewart, Ltd. Plaintiff claimed that the defendants had bought stock which they sent to the salevards, using the plaintiff as agent. The latter claimed the cash involved. Defendants denied the claim, contending that had the case been as* stated the defendant: would have proved as creditors in the plaintiff's bankrupt estate. In an.v case they claimed unpaid sellers’ lier. over the stock. The Official Assignee instigated the claim. The operations between the parties totalled £91,000 in fifteen months.
