WRIT AGAINST OWNER OF THE YACHT SURPRISE.
SOUCITOR MAKES DAMAGES CLAIM. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 20. A writ has been issued out of the Supreme Court in Wellington against Mr Godfrey Williams, the Welsh mine owner, who recently returned to New Zealand aboard the yacht Surprise after a cruise in Australian waters. The application for the writ was made by Messrs Dolan and Rogers, acting on behalf of Mr Anthony H. D. Mayne, solicitor, of Napier. Mayne left New Zealand on board the Surprise some months ago in the capacity, it is understood, of secretary to Mr Wil liams, but left the yacht soon after her arrival in Sydney. He now claims £1245, alleging that Mr Williams broke the contract.
