VERSAILLES FETE IN GARDENS ON SATURDAY NEXT.

WHO WILL BE LITTLE “ MISS CHRISTCHURCH?”

Who will be little Miss Christchurch, for whom such wonderful prizes will be waiting at the big Domain Fete in the Public Gardens next Saturday? Little Miss Christchurch must be pretty and petite, foF the age of the candidates is limited between six and ten, and they will be required to present, themselves before a selection committee of wellknown ladies in attendance every afternoon (except Sunday) from 4 till 5 at the White Star Office, Cathedral Square, next Everybody’s Theatre. No photographs will be required from the candidates.

Complete arrangements have now been made for the Domain Fete which will be held at the Public Gardens both afternoon and evening next Saturday. In the afternoon there will be the usual well-known features, including a Rose Show, Side Shows. Fortune Telling, Stalls, Highland Dancing, Jazzing and something View in the shape of a Radio Concert. The Horticultural Society’s Annual Rose Show will also be held. Bands will be in attendance. In the evening there will be something decidedly novel in the shape of a wonderful Versailles Fete. This kind of function is entirely new to New Zealand though it has been very popular in France and other European countries and with the setting of the beautiful Public Gardens on a moonlight night, the memory of it will bo a very pleasant one for those fortunate enough to be present.
