It’s Oh to be in Auckland town to see the show to-night, when t N.Z.’s rival beauty queens parade in all their glorj’, when people round j the stage door throng to marvei J at the sight, and of the judges* verdict there is told at last the story. The Auckland folk are confident, the title will, they say, go to a representative of their own one-eyed city, while Wellingtonians opine Miss Wellington today has got the contest well in hand, for there is none so pretty. Dunedin folk say much less now than formerly they did, but optimistic southerners declare that there is still an unequalled prospect that at last the judges’ final bid may come as quite a large surprise and go to Miss M’Millan. Yet stoutly yet will all declare each Canterbury man, no matter how the other towns have skited, blown and blustered, that once again it will be shown that Canterbury can; our dainty representative we know will land the mustard.
