BODY OF DEAD , BABY FOUND IN YARD.
( Special 'to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND. November 20. The dead body of a baby girl was found yesterday afternoon in the backyard of a house in Newmarket. The mother, twenty-eight, a single woman, stated to the police that it did not breathe and she put it in the yard. The inquest this morning was adjourned as the mother was in hospital. A doctor gave evidence that the head and neck were slightly discoloured, but that there were no marks of physical injury.
