At the invitation of the Gaiety Community Club of the Y.W.C.A. Mr Edgar Stead has consented to lecture on “Bird Life in New Zealand." The lecture, which will be illustrated by lantern slides, will take place on Monday evening at the Y.W.C.A. Club rooms, Latimer Square. Any persons interested in the subject of New Zealand birds are invited to be present at the lecture. The Christ's College Cadets were inspected yesterday afternoon by Colonel M. M. Gard ner, O.C. Southern Command- Colonel Gard’ner, after giving a short address, presented the Snow Shield to the squad which won it in the recent competition with Boys’ High School.
