(Special to the “ Star.”) WELLINGTON', November 20. Canadian Soccer Team. A meeting of delegates to* the New Zealand Football Association yesterday resolved definitely to write for a Canadian team to visit New Zealand next season. Long and Short. Charged with the theft of a grey squirrel fur coat valued at £25, the property of Rachall Ryan, a man named Roy Chattergi, described as a lawyer,. pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court. The evidence showed that the coat was taken from behind a -dining-room door and pawned. Accused made an elaborate defence, causing Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., to say: “You have made a very long statement, but I will be very short. You will be sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.” Naval Men Rejoin Ship. About 150 officers and men of H.M.S. Diomede have been undergoing a fortnight’s course of musketry instruction at Trentham. They rejoined the ship to-day.
