LICENSES REFUSED FOR HOARDINGS.
Two applications for licenses in respect to hoardings situated in Ferry Road were considered by the City Council last night. The By-laws Committee reported having received an application from the British Imperial Oil Company, for a license for a hoarding situated in Ferry Road. This hoarding was erected by Messrs Gollin and Co., on December 7, 1925, for the purpose of advertising a brand of petrol. The committee recommended the council to refuse the application. The committee also recommended the refusal of an application from the advertising branch of the Railway Department for a license for a hoarding erected near the tramway tanks, Ferrv Road. The recommendation of the committee was approved in each case.
