SMART DRESSING AT ADDINGTON.

The venue of the big events or Carnival Week, changed to Addington today, when the New Zealand Trotting Cup was run. There was the usual big attendance, which included many visitors as well as the army of Canterburylovers of the •’trots.” The weather recently seems to have been made to order for the racing week, and this morning than yesterday. Bright sun but a verycool easterly breeze made conditions rather unpleasant on the la.wn but in the stands there was little to make the day anything but enjoyable. The. dressing was distinctly smart and business-like and the dark summer frock was very* popular. If light colours were chosen, then the material was trimmed with a plain dark material. This season, women havte a wonderful chance to combine daintiness and durability, for many of the fabrics, while having the appearance of real daintiness, are not fragile. Jumper suits were again in evidence and as the wind grew colder many attractive coats made their appearance.
