SECONDARY SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS. FIVE RECORDS BROKEN. The annual athletic championships of the Christchurch secondary schools were held on the Boys’ High School grounds, St raven Road, Riecarton. yesterday afternoon. The weather was fine, though dull, and the tracks wore, in good order after the over-night rain. The schools competing were:—Boys’ High School, Christ’s College. St Andrew's College. St Bede’s College, Technical College and West Christchurch District High School. There was some splendid racing and jumping, and no fewer than five records were broken and one equalled. Christ’s College won the senior championship easily, and High School wore successful in the junior championship. Results: 220 YARDS OPEN. (Record, 23 1-usec, H. Bee, St. 8., 1924). H. The General Committee of the Poyleston Athletic Club, »x a recent, meeting, agreed upon the following alterations to the programme for its annual sports meeting on Boxing Day; The potato and obstacle races and long jump wo,-.- deleted, together with the district cycling events. In place of the latter, it was decided to run two amateur races of one mile and two miles respectively, under the control of the North Canterbury centre of the Athletic and Cycling Union.
