WAIRARAPA NOTES. (Special to the “Star.”) MASTERTON, November 3. Hynanna is reported to be in good fettle, and he should record a win in the very near future. R. Hatch has Inferno in good nick, and the manner in which he won the Macara Handicap at the Masterton meeting suggests great possibilities for the son of Absurd this season. He was left behind quite half a dozen lengths when the barrier went up, after having thrown L. Young twice. The way Inferno cut down the TielA in the last fifty yards showed that he possesses a remarkable turn of speed when he cares to exercise it. The Masterton Racing Club will 44 lift ” about £I2OO clear profit as the result of holding the spiting meeting at Trentham. This is ini distinct contrast to the usual debit when the meeting is held at the Opaki course. Furthermore, a better class of horses competed at Trentham compared with those usually seen out at Opaki. The Carterton Racing Club made a profit, of £175 over the October race meeting. Polyphemus, owned by Mr A. M’Donald, of Masterton, is near the top of his form, and after his splendid win in the Grandstand Handicap, at the Masterton meeting, he should shortly be on the winning list again. The son of Polydamon—Sanguinary is- trained by R. S. Bagby, of Woodville, who has Royal Ceres, also owned by Mr M’Donald, in first-class condition.
