DID BURGLAR GASH HIMSELF?
MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR OCCURS AT HASTINGS. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, November 4. A mysterious affair is occupying the attention of the police. When the employees of the drapery establishment of Sutherlands, Ltd. arrived at the shop this morning they found pools of blood around the back with the window of the lavatory broken and much more blood inside. The trail led up the street for about fifty yards where apparently the would .be burglar was able to staunch the fiow r of blood or else he was picked up by a motorist. It is presumed that the man must have broken the glass in the lavatory window and crawled through. He found the door locked and evidently in getting back gashed himself. The police have the matter in hand.
