In the Magistrate's Court at Timaru yesterday before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., Cornelius Hanifin was charged with the theft of firewood at Waitawa on September 15, the property of Arnold Cross. The value of the wood was £2 12s fid. Defendant asked for the case to be adjourned, as be had made a mistake in the date of the summons, and had not had a chance to call his witnesses.
