II BOYS DROWN IN LAKE ACCIDENT.
CANOE CAPSIZES; ONLY FOUR SURVIVE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. OTTAWA, July 21. A message from Peterborough, Ontario, says that fifteen boys, mostly belonging to a Toronto Sunday school camp, at Balsam Lake, near here, went out in a war canoe on Wednesday. Eleven were drowned when it capsized. The four survivors told the story of how they clung to the upturned craft in choppy water for over live hours, seeing their companions, all fair swimmers and experienced canoeists, disappearing- beneath the surface. The victims ranged from sixteen to twenty-two years. They were going for supplies when the canoe was struck by a squall.
