WEDDING.

C O WAN—D RABBLE. A wedding was celebrated at the Baptist Church, Kaiapoi, recently, when Annie, voungest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Drabble, Cookson Street. Kaiapoi, was married to. Mr John Cowan, of Galashiels, Scotland. The Rev W. 11. Vickery officiated, and Mrs Vickery presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore ivory georgette over satin marocain heavily beaded in silver. Her veil of tulle was held in place by -a circlet of orange blossoms, and was heavily worked in silver and pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of white hothouse flowers. She was attended by Miss Edna Bunting, who wore a frock of Air Force blue French crepe dc chine, trimmed with rosebuds. Her hat was of black satin trimmed with silver and blue to match. She carried a shower bouquet of pink hothouse flowers. The little flower girl. Ksme Brown, niece of the bride, wore shell pink French crepe de chine embroidered in blue, and a pink and blue bandeaux. She carried a posy of pink daisies. Mr Frank Bryden was best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver shoe by her niece. Mavis Brown. A reception was held in the vestry, where a large number of friends sat down to the wedding breakfast. Mrs T. Drabble, mother of the bride, wore a smart navy costume and a black satin hat with' touches of pink. Later the happy couple left by motor for their honeymoon. The bride’s travelling costume was of rust brown cloth, with velour hat to match.
