MAIL CAR GOES OVER BANK.
ACCIDENT ON OKAIN’S BAY ROAD. A Hudson mail car. running on the Okain’s Bay Road to the EasteriT Bays ran over the edge of the road last evening and rolled into a deep gullv. The car. which was driven by Mr Jack Reed, was climbing a hill ‘ Tile accident occurred when the driver tried to pass a lorry, which was going in the same direction. The outside wheel of the car went over the edge, and the driver accelerated in an effort to recover the road. The attempt failed, and the car rolled over and down the steep dec’ivitv. It turned over three times, and finished up standing on its four wheels in a bog at the bottom. There was one passenger in addition to the driver. Both the occupants of the car escaped without serious injurv though they were carried in the car to the bottom of the gully.
