MONEY TAKEN FROM CREDITORS.
CROWN TO INVESTIGATE BANKRUPT’S AFFAIRS. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, July 22. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Robert Kenneth Levick decided to place matters concerning the bankrupt in the hands of the Crown solicitor. At a previous meeting, bankrupt, who is a taxi driver, stated that he had received a cheque for £4O and paid it over in liquidation of a debt. To-day he admitted that the money had been repaid to him, his explanation being that the money was more use to him than to his creditors.
