NATIONALITY OF MARRIED WOMEN.
GOVERNMENT IS SEEKING INFORMATION. (Special to the “ Star.”) WELLINGTON. July 21. The Government is awaiting further information from his Majesty’s Government on the subject of naturalisation and nationality. Pending the receipt of this information the Prime Minister is unable more fully to reply to Mr Sidey’s question that he xvill indicate to the House xvhat attitude he proposes to adopt on the question of dual nationality, and also whether he proposes to support a proposal that a woman who is a British subject may on marrying an alien remain a British subject if on her marriage she makes a declaration that she desires to retain British nationality.
