PHYSICIAN, NOT CHURCH, SHOULD DO HEALING.

By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. MELBOURNE, June 24. The Methodist Church of Australia in a statement defining its attitude towards faith healing, says:—The sick should look to a physician and not to a clergyman to perform the duty of a physician and surgeon. The Methodist Conference considers that a declaration of the attitude of the Methodist Church should be made in view of the advance in our midst of Ch: istian Science, so called, and because of the deep interest evidenced in the past three years in Divine healing. The conference declares its faith in prayers for the sick, but says that no prayer should be offered unless intercession is first made for repentance and for the cleansing power of God’s holy spirit.
