ENGLAND AGAIN THINKING HARD.

CRICKET SELECTORS NOT AT ALL SURE. By Telegrraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON. June 22. Colonel Trevor writes: “All six selectors were present at a lengthy discussion before the Test team was chosen. Apparently the committee regards all the thirteen as at their disposal ‘ for the final choice, but the team’s announcement suggests that the committee prefers Larwood to Macauley. It is evident that the commit-

tee altered its mind regarding Hearns and Sandham. The certainties are: Carr, Chapman, Kilner, Tate, Hobbs, Strudwick and Woollev! It seems impossible to exclude Root, so a batsman must be dropped. After Ilendren’s display at Lord’s the choice is narrowed down to Holmes or Sutcliffe, and the eleven would then be without a slow right hand bowler. The public will

probably think it a little disturbing that the committee is unable to make up its mind definitely.” • •
