KYOGLE-SOUTH BRISBANE RAILWAY OPENED.
By Telegraph.— Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received June 24, 12.15 p.m.) S\DN EY, June 24. The first sod on the Kyogle to South Brisbane railway has been turned. The line forms a new iron link between New South Wales and Queensland and affords an outlet |>r the produce of a large, rich agricultural area previously not served in the north coast districts of New South Wales. It also constitutes the first definite action in the direction of the unification of the railway gauges in the Commonwealth.
