SEA COOK MAKES CLAIM FOR £667.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 24. The hearing of claims totalling £667 bv Stuart, a sea cook, against Mr Young, secretary of the Seamen’s Union and the union, was continued. Plaintiff’s case, was concluded. Opening for the defence, Mr Oregan said that it was only when the ship came to Wellington that Mr Young realised that the whole solution was being left to him. He soon found after an interview with the captain that it was useless to try to get both the men back. Mr Young was sore with Graham for precipitating the trouble, as Graham was an executive member of the union, but had acted purely as an individual. The hearing is proceeding.
