says Dr Stopes. She explained that the play, the theme of which concerns a married woman tillable to bear a child, was ready for production, and the artists engaged, when the censor stopped it. “ Why, I do not know, ” she added. “ When a thoughtful person treats a serious and real life problem earnestly she ought not to be interfered with. There ought to be a court of appeal against the censor's ban.”
