MEETING OF NORTH CANTERBURY EXECUTIVE. The North Canterbury executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union met tc-dav. Mr J. D. Hall presiding. Association and the iShccp Ow ners' Union both joined with the executive in waiting on the Canterburv members of Parliament, who undertook to do all they could to have the*-matter fully discussed when the Bill was before the House. The question of trading was referred T< the finance committee to report. ft was decided, on the motion of thechairman, to write to the Immigration Department pointing out the position in Canterbury with regard to labour, Mr Benjamin stating that the present rime was the worst he had known for ten or twelve years. Mr F. Pearce «Ohoka» waited on the executive with regard to the Dairy Produce Control Board. He traversed the business transacted at the conference held in Wellington in April. The dairy farmers, he said, did not want their voting power taken away from them and given to the dairy factory directors. The produce was the produce of tlie farmers, and they should have the right to say who should be on the Control Board. Mr G. Sheat said the man who produced the produce should have the right to say who should handle it. Every individual supplier, no matter how small, should have a vote.
