By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and N.Z- Cable Association. MELBOURNE, June 22. The annual meeting of the Federal Executive of the Australian Labour Partv decided to refer the question of the forty-four hours week to the reconstituted Arbitration Court. The “executive will also decide Labour’s attitude towards Mr Bruce's referendum proposals. The council of the Australian Workers’ Union is also considering its referendum attitude Prior to the meetings it was stated that there would be a majority in both bodies against the proposals. If the executive of the partv decides against Jtiie proposals, Mr Charlton and other . members of Parliament will be awkwardly placed, but a split in the party | will be avoided by the executive deeid- , ing that, while it is against the referendum, the members of the party can ? have a free hand.
