PERSONAL.
Mr Justice Adams returned from the West Coast last night. Mr R. J. Drummond, director of R. J. Drummond and Co., manufacturers’ agents. Christchurch, left last evening on a business trip to the United States. The appointment of Dr F. G. Ward as clinical assistant and hospital registrar at the Christchurch Hospital has been approved by the Minister. Dr Ward will take up his duties early in October. Messrs J. Glover and J. Roberts, president. and secretary respectively of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Federation, were visitors to Lyttelton this morning. They conferred with many of the watersklers who were out of employment, on the Lyttelton waterfront. It is understood that they will address members of the union at the monthly stop-work meeting to-morrow morning.
