WEDDINGS.

FIN CH—PIDGEON. On Wednesday afternoon, at St Andrew's Church, Little River, the wedding took place of Miss Kate Dorothy Pidgeon, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Pidgeon, Coach Road, Little River, to Mr John Finch, of Palmerston North. The Rev W. H. Stych officiated. and Miss Doreen presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a frock of ivory satin marocain, with godets of silver lace. Her tulle veil clasped over each ear with rings of orange-blos3om, hung gracefully over her shoulders, and she wore shoes and stockings to match. A shower bouquet of hothouse flowers and maidenhair fern completed a charming toilet. The bridesmaid. Miss Mona Pidgeon, sister of the bride, wore a dainty frock of cornflower silk «repe de chine, with flounces of biscuit-coloured lace anc a hat of biscuit georgette and lace with a pink rose at the side. Mt J. Wright was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at. the home of the bride's parents. Mrs W. Pidgeon, who received the guests, wore a frock of black silk rep cloth, and a hat to match. Later, Mr and Mrs J. Finch left amid showers of confetti, for a honeymoon to be spent in the North Island. The bride travelled in a frock of henna facecloth, with a hat to match. In the evening Mr and Mrs Pidgeon entertained the guests, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Mr and Mrs Finch received many presents.

A wedding was solemnised al the Lincoln Road Methodist Church, recently, when Ursula, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs John Steel, of Spreydon, was married to Alfred, eldest son of Mr J. B. Symmans, of Eltham, Taranaki. The Rev A. Liversedge officiated. and Mrs J. Wicks, cousin of the bride, presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory brocaded crepe de chine, trimmed with crystal trimming, and finished with a pearl and crystal tassel. She wore a Limerick lace bridal veil, held in position with a circlet of orange-blos-som, and she carried a bouquet of white flowers. Miss Ruby Steel, sister of the. bride, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a frock of shrimp-pinlc crepe de chine, made with a long bodice anti flared skirt, trimmed with ribbon velvet of a deeper shade, and finished with a silver tissue flower at the low waist-line. She wore a tulle bow on her hair, and carried a bouquet of flowers to tone. Little Greta Steel, niece of the bride, as flower girl, wore a frock of mauve satin and shadow lace, and carried a basket of mauve

flowers. Mr L. R. Loveday was best After the ceremony a reception was held in the Coronation Hall, where the guests were received by Mrs Steel, who wore an ensemble suit of navy-blue, and a smart black hat. In the evening about 150 relatives and friends were entertained with games and musical items. Later Mr and Mrs Symmans left for their future home at Ngaere, Taranaki, the. bride wearing a navyblue frock trimmed with fawn, and a lawn velvet hat to match.
