FELL 200 FEET DOWN PRECIPITOUS SLOPE.
YOUNG LADY INJURED AT MOUNT COOK. TIM ARC, June 21. A serious accident occurred at Mount J Cook on Saturday. Miss Davidson, a ; young lady from Melbourne, left .the j Hermitage at 10.45 a.m. to go to Red j Lake, at Sebastopol. As she took no j guide she was warned not to depart 1 from the ordinary track. As she did I not return within what was considered J a reasonable time, the manager of the j Hermitage despatched several guides ! to look for her. They searched for a , long time without success and were ! just about to return home when they ! heard a moan, and found Miss Davidson in some scrub on the side of a pre- ! oi pi tons slope, down which she had fall- ! en a distance estimated at 200 feet. The sufferer was conveyed to the J Hermitage on a stretcher, and a doctor was sent for from Fairlie. v Besides bc- ; ing bruised all over. Miss Davidson i had several ribs broken ond suffered I injury to her chest and head. The ! doctor is hopeful for her recovery.
