The Wimbledon Tennis Championship meeting opened in fine weather, with a crowded attendance, and with a jubilation celebration in the form of a Royal pageant, in which the King presented commemorative medals to evchampions from the ’SO’s to last year Despite the absence of Miss Helen Wills and Lacoste the international element was strongly represented. The meeting is noteworthy for the first appearance of a Roy r al entrant, the Duke of York.
