Further work was completed last week on the Summit Road between Mount Pleasant and Evans Pass on the Sumner-Lyttelton Road. With the metalling and widening at the junction on the top of the pass, the turn into the road is now easily managed from either approach. During the week-end cars were able to use the extension, which takes them half-way from the tea house to the trig station on the top of Mount Pleasant 1 . Although only partly formed, several cars used it. and, as a large number of cars came up the hillside from the tram stop near the Heathcote Bridge, scores of visitors enjoyed the magnificent panorama obtained from the peak overlooking Lyttelton Harbour.
