ROLL DOWN GAMES ARE WATCHED BY MAGISTRATE.

DETECTIVES PLAY AGAINST TWO EXPERTS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 5. Tn connection with the prosecution of Harold Percival Bishop and Alfred Dawson for conducting a “roll down” parlour, the Magistrate, Mr Page, visited the premises and watched a contest between two players who were called by the defence yesterday and two detectives. Press representatives were admitted at the instigation of the Magistrate after a refusal by the defendants. Playing with wooden balls the two experts won fifteen and tied in one game out of twenty-four with the detectives, who rolled with heads averted. Playing with billiard balls the detectives and one Pressman under the same conditions won six out of twenty-eight games against three experts. In a game for all present the detective and another made the possible, and the detective won in the play-off. The Magistrate stated that he would give a written decision next week.
