In the House of Oommoys Mr Winston Churchill, replying to a question, estimated that the value of the imported goods entitled to preference for the three months ended on March 31. was £16,500.000. The actual amount of the preference was £5.500,000. Captain A. Evans (Cardiff) asked Mr Churchill what legislation would be introduced to protect the nation against a repetition of the general strike. Mr Churchill replied that the matter would be considered. At present he was not prepared to make a statement.
