PROTECTION FROM GENERAL STRIKE.
QUESTION RAISED IN HOUSE OF COMMONS. By Telegraph.-—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and X.Z. Cable Association. (Received June 4. 1.40 p.m.) LONDON. June 3. In the House of Oommoys Mr Winston Churchill, replying to a question, estimated that the value of the imported goods entitled to preference for the three months ended on March 31. was £16,500.000. The actual amount of the preference was £5.500,000. Captain A. Evans (Cardiff) asked Mr Churchill what legislation would be introduced to protect the nation against a repetition of the general strike. Mr Churchill replied that the matter would be considered. At present he was not prepared to make a statement.
