In the House of Representatives, the Treasurer, Dr Earle Page, gave notice of his intention to introduce a Bill to repeal the Surplus Revenue Act of 1910 and to make provision for special financial aid to certain States. The Bill also provides for the withdrawal of per capita payments, a reduction of approximately 40 per cent in the rates of taxation on the incomes of individuals and companies and the abandonment of the land and entertainment taxes probate and death duties.
