WAITAKI GIRL WINS BIG HANDICAP.

STEWARDS DISQUALIFY DIAMOND CHILD ; INCIDENT IN SECOND RACE

A decisive win was registered by Wailaki Girl, who was on the back mark in the King George Handicap at Addington to-day. Overhauling the opposition with a strong run along the back, she was in front when the straight was reached, and went on to win easily by three lengths. In the second race Diamond Child won by two lengths, but was disqualified on the grounds of interference with William the Great.

The winter meeting of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club was commenced at Addington to-day in ideal conditions, with the sun t.o temper the atmosphere. There was a large holiday attendance. Going clown the back His Pal and Bingen I/ad were in the lead, William The Great, Four Bells and Diamond Child joining them three furlongs from home. Diamond Child and Four Bells led into the straight. Diamond Child then drew out and won by two lengths from William The Great, who beat Four Bells by three lengths.
