RUMANIAN ROYALTY CHANGE THEIR FAITH.
KING FERDINAND WANTS TO EE HEAD OF GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH. VIENNA, April 15. Despite repeated denials. the Bucharest newspapers repeat that Queen Marie of Rumania joined the Greek Orthodox Church in Easter week. They now add that King: Ferdinand will follow ' his consort's example and assume the religion of the overwhelming majoritv of his subjects. 1 he Rumanian King, as a scion of the Sigmaringen branch of the House of Hohenzollern, was brought up in the Roman Catholic creed. The Royal couple’s change of religion is connected with the King's ambition to become the temporal head of the Greek Orthodox Church, thus succeeding the Czars of Russia. Since the last Czar's dea4h the Greek Christians have had no formal head.
