The wife of the station-master at the Newcastle (England) Central Station, in declaring open a first-aid room at the station, said that if railwaymen were injured they would be able to come into a place where they could “groan in comfort.” Sometimes they had to keep a stiff upper lip when a groan would do them a lot of good.
