At the world congress of master hairdressers in New York it was stated that 00,000,000 women and children spent a total of £78,000,000 in the “ beauty parlours" of the United States last year. The United States now has 135 training schools for the instruction of creators of feminine beauty, one school turning out annually 2000 “ graduates." The pupils pay on the average £SO for the course of instruction. Exercises to gramophone music are employed at St Thomas’ Hospital, London, for improving the muscles of the feet and legs and curing such ailments as flat feet.
