Jn responding to the toast. of his health, Ihe president cnngratulnted tlw club am the px'ugrcss it had made in the past few years, and said there was every roason to anticipate that before long il. would again ouuupy the pro-eminent position that it had formerly occupied in swimming in New Zealand. fl ‘

Mr L. A. u. Rich. secretary of the Canterbury Centre, in responding tn Iho (oust of “The Governing Bodies." praised the enthusiasm that had been xhuwn by the club members in the past season. He said it would have been difficult for some of the other clubs to have carried out such good programmes at their carnivals if it had not been for the support given by the members otfltl‘m Christchurch Club._ ‘ .
